We are a private neighborhood beach association located in the Point Beach area of Milford, CT. Organized in 1929 as a Special Taxing District under the Connecticut General Statues, the PBIA's purpose is to maintain and improve the association's beach properties for the enjoyment of it's members. These properties include the beach on Platt Street and the five beach-end properties on Atwater Street, Coolridge Road, Elaine Road, Point Beach Drive and Richard Street.
PBIA membership is private and exclusively for residents and their guests in the Point Beach neighborhood. Membership is based on the originally drawn map of the neighborhood when the association was formed in 1929. Since our neighborhood has expanded since that time, an associate membership category was added for the residents in the Point Beach neighborhood whose homes are outside of this boundary map.
Full and Associate members pay the same annual assessment, both may attend PBIA meetings/events and both are able to enjoy the association properties. Only full members have voting rights at PBIA meetings.
The PBIA is managed by a Board of Governors consisting of 9 members that are elected by full members in good standing at it's annual meeting. The PBIA annual meeting is typically held on the first Sunday of the month in June.
Have you recently moved to Point Beach? If so....welcome! Please reach out to us so we can be sure our records are updated with your information and to provide you with a PBIA membership beach tag to be kept with you or your guests when on association properties.
If you are wondering if your home is part of the association, how you can join as an associate member or any other questions, feel free to reach out to us at pointbeachassoc@gmail.com.
Annual assessment notice is mailed in July and are due in August.
